Create connection with your content

Storytelling isn’t about breaking down the features and benefits…

…it’s about creating connection.

When I first started writing online content, I was obsessed with breaking down the value of the work I created by talking about the features of the session.

I would talk exclusively about the nuts and bolts type stuff:

  • Where we need to shoot

  • What to wear

  • How to prepare the night before the shoot

The why, when, what and how was covered ad nauseam.

But there was one key ingredient missing:

Emotion.

In the following clip, my colleagues, speakers and authors, Ron Karr and Scott McKain, talk about the power of emotion in storytelling

(to watch the clip, you can do so right here)

What was your takeaway from this video - other than the velvety sounds of Scott McKain’s voice, that is :)
