Visual Authority Insights

John DeMato shares insights on Visual Authority, perception, and the hidden friction that shapes expert evaluation before the conversation begins. These articles help speakers, authors, consultants, founders, and public-facing leaders understand how visual signal influences trust, positioning, and decision velocity.

Process photos of the house demolition - the saga continues

When I first walked into the house and saw all the footprints on the hallway carpet, I knew these folks did some work.

I opened the door, and my suspicions were confirmed.

The first floor is now fully demo’ed and they’re ready to put the drywall up.

Early on when my brother and I did the initial demo, I had a couple moments while tearing down the place. Now, I’m more fascinated and excited to see the journey continue to transform it into the final product.

I didn’t stage anything - it looked cool just the way it was. So I did a couple laps in each room - or, what’s left of them.

It was a bit tough to wiggle around and get a ton of wide shots, but the magic is in the details anyway.

The nails, broken wood slats, light switches, nails, tools, debris. It all looked visually delicious.

I should’ve worn a mask as it was a bit dusty in there, but, after getting some fresh air, and drank a boatload of water, I felt better.

Looking forward to seeing what the place looks like with walls again.

That process starts this week.
