John DeMato Blog

Hi! I'm John. In my blog, I share insights that help Speakers and Expert-based Business Owners create an emotional connection with their audiences through persuasive visual storytelling.

A cherry on top...in photos.

Do you run an in person certification program?

Offer your participants visual assets they can use to promote themselves.

Over the past couple years, I’ve worked with several experts who run certification programs of all types.

Wellness. Leadership. Sales.

And everything in between.

And for many of these programs, it’s required that participants attend a 1-3 day, in person training where everyone is in the room going over the material.

When everyone is in the same room at the same time, that opens up opportunities…

…opportunities to create visual assets that those same folks can use in their marketing materials and online content.

Here’s what I mean:

Instead of simply asking your photographer to capture the moments in the room as they unfold in order to help promote the certification program itself, direct them to also photograph each participant in a way that highlights them and only them.

Speaking, listening, taking notes, and laughing.

Since they are isolated in the images, they are no longer forced to leverage these images in a way that speaks directly to them attending this training.

They can leverage the emotional sentiment conveyed in the image and use it to compliment the stories and insights they share that carry the same emotional sentiment.

The context of that photo is no longer fixed to that specific moment - it’s fluid and can be used in a variety of ways, and for a variety of marketing and promotional purposes.

As a result, they now have a valuable visual asset at their disposal.

Sure, the image can be used within the context of the content that promotes their certified expertise. Or, it can be used to promote their core business expertise.

Either way, they’re walking away with more photo assets than they had before they set foot in the room to learn from you.

It’s not only a strategic win, but it’s also a nice gift to offer those who want to fly under your banner.

Be mindful of this when hiring a photographer to capture your next in person, certification training.

Yes, you need your visual assets, too…but 1-3 days is a long time to simply capture what you need.

Instruct your photographer to zero in on each person participating, as well.

This will create a massive win-win-win for everyone involved.

Speaking of photographing your next certification course…
