John DeMato Blog

Hi! I'm John. In my blog, I share insights that help Speakers and Expert-based Business Owners create an emotional connection with their audiences through persuasive visual storytelling.

Fake it till you make it??

Fake it till you make it?

Or, is there a better path to success, prosperity and fulfillment?

Whether you’re an Expert-based business owner or simply lived on the planet long enough, you’ve undoubtedly heard the “fake it…make it” phrase on more than one occasion.

I certainly have, that’s for sure.

But truthfully, it never sat well with me - it simply felt like a disingenuous approach.

While I’ve had many run-ins with imposter syndrome, I’ve gotten past it each time by compartmentalizing my feelings and simply do the work and listen to the feedback from those I serve in order to apply those learnings for the next client.

Is it easy to separate myself from feeling like a fraud while delivering the work at the same time?

Um, no - it’s a pain in the ass and it feels weird, to boot.

But, it’s what’s gotten me this far, so I’ve hung my hat on that approach for years.

Until the other day, that is.

I was listening to a conversation between speakers Ron Karr and Randy Gage, and the subject of faking it till you make it came up.

Randy shared a perspective that deeply resonated with me:

Too bad I didn’t hear this amazing perspective sooner as it would’ve probably saved me years of aggravation, but, as they say, better late than never :)

If you’re interested in learning more about how to create more prosperity in your life, go to Randy’s website and sign up for his weekly newsletter.

Over to you…
